Matt and Jessica Brown
Matt and Jessica Brown bring their love for ministry and Detroit to the Hope House team. They oversee the Hope Hospitality House where they host visiting groups that come from all over the country to stay and serve with us and in the city. As Director of Operations, Jessica oversees the day-to-day at Hope House. Matt and Jessica strive to show love to the children in the neighborhood by modeling a Godly marriage and family, building intentional relationships, and living as their neighbors.
Troy and Hannah Wilkinson
Troy and Hannah Wilkinson serve as House Directors and ensure the house runs smoothly for the programs which take place there. They also extend hospitality to visiting groups, facilitate service projects, and host interns. They seek to serve God through their marriage and as members of the community He is building on Jefferson and Marlborough.
Amy brings her love and passion for people to be in a personal relationship with Jesus to the community and team. She comes from a background in ministry serving in the college setting and is excited to be sharing the love of Jesus now with the youth in the neighborhood. Her gifts and past experience make her a great fit leading our mentorship program and newly opened Hope Cafe.
Matthew is able to bring his communication skills and ministry experience to the community of Hope House. He has worked in ministry and brings knowledge, wisdom, and charisma hoping to spread the love of Jesus Christ.
Danielle was one of our first academic interns in the Fall of 2016 and she became our Public Relations specialist when she graduated from Rochester College that December. She volunteers with us weekly and brings her passion for Detroit and children into the flyers, social media posts, and brochures that she designs for us.
Riley and Rae Chowning
Riley and Rae Chowning add their urban missions experience to our efforts to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of the young people in the neighborhood. They pour into every young life, working with the kids one-on-one. They mentor and model a godly way of life, showing the love of Christ as they open their hearts to the children.
Ken and Joy Ferguson
Joy and Ken Ferguson served as missionaries in Tanzania, Africa for 5 years. Joy now has the pleasure of working with the Hope House neighborhood children in Detroit. She is the Director of Read Around the Block, Hope House’s after-school literacy and tutoring program. Joy enjoys the positive, loving atmosphere at Hope House, where she works to build strong relationships with children, parents, volunteers and staff. Her great joy is engaging the children in the love of God and of reading.
Kasey brings her background in Elementary Education and serving in urban ministry across the U.S. to the team at Hope House. She loves seeing kids grow in relationship with Jesus and getting to watch God at work in people’s lives and communities. This makes her a great addition to help in developing Elementary programs and partnerships with local schools.
Maria serves as the financial bookkeeper and brings her public accounting background to help the ministry ensure its short and long-term success financially. Drawing on her educational and professional experience, she collaborates with the leadership team to properly keep track of ministry resources involved with the programming and operational needs at Hope House. She is passionate about empowering youth to reach their full potential and knowing they are loved by Christ. It brings her great joy to serve a ministry devoted to nurturing a Christ-centered community and spreading the love of Jesus.
Dana and Emanuel Rodriguez
Dana and Emanuel Rodriguez have worked with youth since the beginning of their relationship and have learned how truly precious each child of God is. As the Volunteer Coordinator, Dana takes joy in connecting willing hearts with eager children so relationships can grow.
