Riley and Rae Chowning

Riley and Rae Chowning add their urban missions experience to our efforts to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of the young people in the neighborhood.  They pour into every young life, working with the kids one-on-one. They mentor and model a godly way of life, showing the love of Christ as they open their hearts to the children.

Troy and Hannah Wilkinson

Troy and Hannah Wilkinson serve as House Directors and ensure the house runs smoothly for the programs which take place there. They also extend hospitality to visiting groups, facilitate service projects, and host interns. They seek to serve God through their marriage and as members of the community He is building on Jefferson and Marlborough.

Amy Paruk

Amy brings her love and passion for people to be in a personal relationship with Jesus to the community and team. She comes from a background in ministry serving in the college setting and is excited to be sharing the love of Jesus now with the youth in the neighborhood. Her gifts and past experience make her a great fit leading our mentorship program and newly opened Hope Cafe.

Matt and Jessica Brown

Matt and Jessica Brown bring their love for ministry and Detroit to the Hope House team. They oversee the Hope Hospitality House where they host visiting groups that come from all over the country to stay and serve at Hope House and the city. Matt and Jessica strive to show love to the children in the neighborhood by modeling a Godly marriage and family, building intentional relationships, and living as their neighbors.

Ken and Joy Ferguson

Joy and Ken Ferguson served as missionaries in Tanzania, Africa for 5 years.  Joy now has the pleasure of working with the Hope House neighborhood children in Detroit.  She is the Director of  Read Around the Block, Hope House’s after-school literacy and tutoring program.  Joy enjoys the positive, loving atmosphere at Hope House, where she works to build strong relationships with children, parents, volunteers and staff.  Her great joy is engaging the children in the love of God and of reading.

Kasey brings her background in Elementary Education and serving in urban ministry across the U.S. to the team at Hope House.  She loves seeing kids grow in relationship with Jesus and getting to watch God at work in people’s lives and communities.  This makes her a great addition to help in developing Elementary programs and partnerships with local schools.
